The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, announced that in the meeting with the leader of the Self-Determination Movement (LVV), Albin Kurti, institutional stability and the need to avoid new elections were discussed. After the meeting, Abdixhiku said that the parties have agreed that the dialogue will continue in the coming days.

“We talked about institutional stability and the necessary avoidance of elections. At this stage we agreed to continue the talks,” he declared. According to the LDK leader, the discussions are focused on principles and not on specific names. “We talked about principles and, for the LDK, these principles require democratic balance in the country. All parties must contribute to this balance.

“In this meeting it was impossible to talk about all the topics, but it was a good step to continue the talks. We have 30 days to constitute the Assembly and 60 days to elect the president. It is important that we are talking before unilateral steps are taken. This gives hope,” he said.
