Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed today that Russian air defenses intercepted 660 Ukrainian drones during a major attack carried out last night on 12 Russian regions, as well as Crimea, which Moscow considers the largest attack to date.

The major attack came hours after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on the X platform that he had ordered a “40-day impact operation,” believed to mean an escalation of attacks, with the aim of “forcing Russia to end the war,” after US peace efforts over the past year have failed to produce progress.

A house was destroyed in the Tula region, south of Moscow, and a woman was injured, Tula Governor Dmitry Milyaev said. He added that a power line and an unidentified industrial facility in the city of Novomoskovsk were also damaged, theindependent reports.
