Six in ten Israelis do not consider Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a trustworthy person, according to a poll conducted by Channel 12. The poll shows that 60 percent of Israelis do not trust the prime minister, while 38 percent say they trust him, reports timesofisrael .
In contrast, the majority of respondents (54 percent) view his main rival, Gadi Eisenkot, as a trustworthy figure while 29 percent have no confidence in him. Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who is also running to oust Netanyahu from power, is seen as untrustworthy by 53 percent of respondents, while 41 percent say they trust him.
The poll also finds that almost two-thirds of Israelis say the latest wave of legal initiatives by Netanyahu’s coalition, including bills aimed at allowing haredi (ultra-Orthodox Jewish) men to continue to avoid military service, will influence their vote.
The next parliamentary elections in Israel are expected to be held no later than October 27, 2026, where citizens will elect the 120 members of the Knesset (Israeli parliament). /Telegraph
