Russian President Vladimir Putin could face a difficult period that could lead to the end of his tenure in power within the next three years, according to a forecast published by the American magazine Forbes.

According to the magazine’s analysis, the greatest risks for the Kremlin’s leadership are related to several factors, including possible failures in the war against Ukraine, clashes between Russian political and economic elites, massive discontent in society, as well as a possible change in China’s policy towards Russia.

Forbes examines several scenarios that could lead to Putin’s weakening or removal from power. Among the possibilities mentioned is an extreme scenario, where the Russian leader could face a public trial similar to that of former Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu.
